The Project Manager I role is designed for experienced civil engineers who can independently manage their projects with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will perform managerial duties such as project scheduling billing budget tracking and proposal preparation. This role also involves mentoring one to two design engineers under the guidance of a Project Manager II Senior Project Manager and/or Principal.
Experience:
8 years in site development and design or 4 years of project management experience.
Experience with various project types including residential commercial mixeduse and projects requiring DSA approval.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with major coursework in civil engineering.
Licenses:
California Professional Engineering (PE) License is required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in advanced Civil 3D/AutoCAD design tools (e.g. corridors pipe networks) is encouraged.
Familiarity with engineering software such as HydroCAD WaterCAD and AutoTurn.
Knowledge:
Indepth understanding of civil engineering topics including hydraulic/hydrology stormwater quality geometric layout geotechnical and structural analysis.
Soft Skills:
Strong problemsolving communication and listening skills.
Ethical dedication to professional practice.
Collaborate with Project Manager II and Senior Project Manager to perform managerial tasks for assigned projects.
Prepare billing invoices and track project budgets.
Assist with preparing proposal addenda or additional services requests determining scope and estimating costs.
Train and manage one to two design engineers under supervision.
Provide documentation and participate in team members performance reviews.
Perform and oversee design responsibilities for site development plans including grading drainage onsite and street improvements stormwater quality utility plans parking lot layouts and feasibility exhibits.
Conduct and manage design calculations (e.g. earthwork quantities impervious surface areas drainage analysis).
Prepare and oversee project reports and supporting documents such as hydrology reports feasibility studies and engineers cost estimates.
Maintain effective communication with coconsultants and governing municipalities/agencies to secure necessary approvals.
Lead project research and coordination efforts with governing municipalities/agencies.
Coordinate with consultants (e.g. project architect geotechnical engineer structural engineer surveyor) for various project aspects.
Lead meetings site visits and field inspections with contractors and project consultants.
Review (QC/QA) plans and supporting documents for preliminary and permit phases of assigned projects.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and project specifications.
