Job Description

STEAM Connect is a fullservice provider of staffing solutions for the renewable energy sector in the United States. We are currently seeking skilled Battery Installation Technicians to join our team. (Relocation to California is required; (we provide work visas and support to find housing)

The Battery Installation Technician will be responsible for installing maintaining and troubleshooting battery energy storage systems (BESS) for residential and commercial clients. This role requires technical expertise attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality in every project.

Key Responsibilities

Battery Installation:
Perform the physical installation of battery energy storage systems including mounting wiring and configuring equipment according to design specifications and safety standards.

Electrical Connections:
Connect batteries to inverters monitoring systems and other electrical components. Ensure proper wiring grounding and compliance with safety protocols.

Site Assessment:
Evaluate installation sites to determine suitability for battery systems. Identify any necessary structural or electrical upgrades before installation.

Equipment Handling:
Safely handle and transport battery systems and related equipment. Use proper lifting techniques and tools to prevent damage and ensure safety.

System Testing:
Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of battery systems to ensure proper operation and performance.

Quality Assurance:
Perform detailed quality checks to verify all components are securely installed and operational. Promptly address any issues or discrepancies.

Safety Compliance:
Follow strict safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards. Report any safety concerns immediately.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of installation activities including system configurations serial numbers and performance metrics.

Customer Support:
Interact professionally with clients addressing questions or concerns about the installation process or system operation.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot issues with existing battery systems to ensure peak performance.

Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about advancements in battery technology and installation best practices. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Renewable Energy Engineering or equivalent (Ttulo y Cdula Profesional are mandatory).
English proficiency: A2/B1 certification or equivalent (must be able to hold basic conversations).
Previous experience in battery installation or related fields is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and basic construction principles.
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Additional Requirements:
Clean immigration record with the United States.
No criminal record.
Ability to pass a medical screening and antidoping test.
