Job Summary
A client of ours in the Travel & Tour Industry is seeking to hire an Accountant to be responsible for evaluating enhancing and implementing improvements to the current accounting system to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate enhance and implement improvements to the current accounting system to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
- Monitor accounts receivable prepare accurate and timely debtor lists and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Prepare monthly and annual P&L reports providing insights into the company s financial performance and assisting management with strategic decisionmaking.
- Ensure that all financial records are accurately maintained and up to date providing regular financial updates to management.
- Act as the point of contact between the company and banks handling transactions inquiries and ensuring smooth banking operations.
- Perform regular BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) reconciliations for the agency ensuring that payments to airlines and other partners are correctly accounted for.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits providing necessary documentation and assisting with the audit process.
- Ensure all travel bookings payments and ticketing are accurately recorded in the company s financial system.
Requirements
- Candidates with Bachelors or HND educational degrees in any field are welcome.
- A minimum of 5 years of postNYSC working experience as an Accountant.
- An Ideal candidate with experience in the Traveling Agency Industry is mostly preferred.
- Candidate should have the knowledge and experience of BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan).
- Proficiency in accounting software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Strong focus on accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with banks auditors and management.
