Internship (Data Collection Analysis and Communications)Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN)SDG Transformation Center6month full time internshipJanuary June 2025 in Paris (France)The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was set up in 2012 under the auspices of the UN SecretaryGeneral to mobilize scientific and technological expertise for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDSNs SDG Transformation Center works to support and accelerate the global implementation of the SDGs by providing the public policy makers and civil society with a quantitative databased assessment of SDG progress policy and financing trends and challenges. In 2025 the SDG Transformation Center will produce a tenth edition of the Sustainable Development Report 2025 which is the organizations flagship report that provides the most comprehensive assessment of the performance of all 193 UN Member States on the 17 SDGs. The SDG Transformation Center also works with the Governments of Benin and Uzbekistan to support countries efforts to monitor SDGs progress identify priorities for action and understand key implementation challenges and gaps that must be addressed to achieve the SDGs by 2030 and beyond. Under these partnerships the SDG Transformation Center will produce the next edition of the Benin Sustainable Development Report and will develop the SDG Index and Dashboards for Uzbekistans regions that will enable tracking the SDG progress across the country.To support these efforts the SDG Transformation Center is seeking an intern to join its team in Paris France for a sixmonth internship starting in early January. Tasks and Responsibilities1. Support the monitoring of SDG progress with data extraction checks and verifications for the Sustainable Development Report 2025. 2. Support the monitoring of SDG progress in Benin and the development of the Benin Sustainable Development Report 2025 including desk research data extraction analysis model development production of tables and graphs data checks and drafting. 3. Support the monitoring of SDG progress in Uzbekistan including the desk research data collection and verifications analysis production of tables and graphs and drafting. The intern will also assist the project manager in helping to plan meetings prepare materials and draft notes. 4. Support the team with drafting content for news pieces and social media and developing visual content. 5. Support other adhoc tasks related to projects events and social media as determined by the team. QualificationsFocus on sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs.Pursuing an advanced degree in economics statistics political science environmental science international relations or equivalent with solid quantitative skills. Good knowledge of Excel and statistical methods.Ideally knowledge of Stata and/or R.Solid writing skills with the capability to create engaging written content is a plus.Basic graphic design with experience in creating visual content formatting and designing documents is a plus.Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop Illustrator InDesign Canva are an advantage.Fluency in English (written and spoken) with knowledge of French is a plus.Enrolled in a certified degree program (to be able to obtain a Convention de stage from your university) and have the right to hold an internship in France.DurationThe internship will take place for 6 months from early January June 2025. CompensationYou will receive a gratification of 850 net per month plus 50% of transportation costs.
