What You ll Do
Reporting to the Director of Engineering you will:
- Design and certify alterations to aircraft structures systems equipment and furnishings.
- Conduct structural analyses including hand calculations finite element analysis fatigue and damage tolerance assessments.
- Prepare and approve detailed part assembly and installation drawings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through engineering inspections and documentation.
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
- Collaborate with Transport Canada foreign regulatory authorities and internal teams in MRO avionics and manufacturing.
- Lead projects ensuring timely and efficient execution while maintaining highquality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in aerospace mechanical or civil engineering (advanced degrees are an asset).
- 7 years of experience in aviation engineering with expertise in aircraft structural systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks) and structural analysis tools (e.g. FEMAP ANSYS).
- Knowledge of FAR 23/25/27/29 standards and aircraft certification procedures.
- Strong critical thinking problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Assets
- Professional engineering designation (e.g. P.Eng.) or equivalent certification.
- Experience as a Transport Canada Authorized Person (AP) or in a similar delegated role.
- Familiarity with structural integration of equipment fuselage penetrations and flammability standards.
