Job Description

Job purpose: To build market position by locating developing defining negotiating and closing business relationships.

Job Summary: The Business Development and Marketing Manager will ensure business growth through participating directing and managing business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.

The Business Development and Marketing Manager will manage onboarding clients and ensure an exceptional Customer Experience. The role will be required to identify pursue and call on clients to make presentations on Smart solutions and services that meet or predict the clients future needs.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
  1. Develop review and report on the business development and marketing strategy ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team
  2. Build a prospect base with a conversion rate of 5%
  3. Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  4. Present sales revenue and expense reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  5. Identify potential clients and the decision makers within a client organization research and build relationships with them.
  6. Set up meetings between client decisionmakers and the company s practice leaders/Principals.
  7. Plan approaches and pitches. Work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client s needs concerns and objectives.
  8. Champion in pricing the solution/service.
  9. Handle objections by clarifying emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  10. Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  11. Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  12. Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
  13. Support the overall process of management and corporate decisionmaking to ensure the organization maximizes its short medium and longterm profitability and shareholder returns
  14. Liaise with other executive heads on the implementation of the company s strategic and operational plans
  15. Attend industry functions such as association events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  16. Present to and consult with mid and seniorlevel management on business trends with a view to developing new services products and distribution channels.
  17. Identify opportunities for campaigns services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  18. Using knowledge of the market and competitors identify and develop the company s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Requirements

Qualifications

  1. Holder of a bachelor s degree in Sales & Marketing or Business Administration
  2. At least 4 years experience in a sales Role in a reputable organization preferably within the Technology and/or Insurance industry
  3. IT Proficiency especially in the Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint is a must
  4. Having worked directly in marketing and in a customerfacing role is an added advantage

Skills knowledge and abilities

  1. Skill in sales and marketing customer service & support and training with demonstrated customer service orientation.
  2. Strong and welldeveloped analytical and reportwriting skills.
  3. Quick learner with demonstrated product knowledge and professionalism.
  4. Excellence in problemsolving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
  6. Team player with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers and other service delivery functions.
  7. Selfstarter with possession of selfmanagement and selfdrive to complete tasks and engage customers.
  8. Proactive and highly organized with strong time management and planning skills.
  9. Ability to work under tight deadlines and heavy workloads and remain calm under pressure with a high degree of individual responsibility all of which are implicit with the position.
  10. A good understanding of the insurance industry and is bilingual (English and French).
