Occupational Nurse to promote preservation of worker health prevention and care of work accidents occupational diseases and rehabilitation of the disabled through programs that not only reach the workers but also the circulated population.
Duties:
- Provide plant employees with daily medical/health services such as first aid treatment health routine checks medicine dispensing (authorized by applicable regulations) and other employee s routine health needs.
- Support company physicians in the management of occupational and nonoccupational cases. This will include but not limited to employee evaluations and referral to outside services return to work evaluations reasonable accommodation and special licenses medical review.
- Collaborate in the coordination of occupational medical surveillance clinics such as health certificates respiratory protection hearing conservation visual health and drug testing.
- Implement health preventive measures such as support to medical evaluations interdisciplinary case intervention and generation/evaluation of health trends information.
- Record and maintain accurate compliant and timely medical information through IPR health documentation systems (records Health Information database etc.).
- Ensure dispensary services and equipment readiness by maintaining agreed levels of medical supplies purchased by IPR and conducting periodical equipment and dispensary facilities inspections.
- Collaborate in the implementation of a health communication program that includes new employees induction program health trainings/presentations and all wellness activities.
- Provide nursing assistance and/or coverage during non routine work hours and emergencies as requested by SHE personnel Loss Control Operators and/or IPR management.
- Comply with legal regulations related to occupational and nonoccupational health such as: security and privacy rules of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ( HIPAA ) as amended and all applicable dispositions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ( ARRA ) and Title XIII Division A Health Information Technology and in Title IV of Division B Medicare and Medicaid Health Information Technology as amended from time to time which together are cited as the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act or the HITECH Act Local Health Department State Insurance Fund OSHA.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in science with a major in nursing preferably with previous experience in the implementation of health programs in a pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment.
- Computer skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word Excel Power Point) and Internet skills.
- Communication skills Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Certificates Licenses Registrations: Nursing License and Registered Nurse. Updated College registration from the Professional College of Nursing of Puerto Rico.
- Meets any other requirement established by local or federal legislation.
