Job Title: Quick Hire Medical Director (Psychiatrist)
Location: Wilmington DE 19805
Payrate: $250/hr
Estimated Hours: 10 hours per week
Duration: Longterm potential for 1 year or more
Work Schedule: MondayFriday with possible work outside of regular hours (8:00 AM 4:30 PM)
Scope of Work:
The Medical Director will provide psychiatric consultation to division staff and key stakeholders deliver training on medication management psychiatric diagnosis and other relevant topics and oversee healthcare contracts including those involving psychiatric prescribers and pharmacy consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Consultation: Provide leadership and guidance in the development of policies and processes for the childrens behavioral health system. Ensure adherence to best practices and CARF standards.
- Training & Education: Deliver training sessions on medication management psychiatric diagnosis and other relevant topics to division staff and key stakeholders.
- Oversight of Healthcare Contracts: Manage and oversee healthcare contracts including psychiatric prescribers and pharmacy consultants ensuring compliance with established standards and practices.
- Appeals & Quality Assurance: Review treatment service continued stay and discharge appeals. Conduct quality assurance reviews of contracted prescribing services.
- Direct Psychiatric Services: Provide direct psychiatric services on an asneeded basis to youth in DPBHSoperated facilities. This may include conducting initial psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
- Additional Responsibilities: The position may require flexibility in working hours including evenings or weekends depending on the needs of the division.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with specialization in Psychiatry.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Required: Board Certification or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Required: Current and valid licensure to practice psychiatry in the State of Delaware.
- Required: DEA Registration for the prescription of controlled substances.
Experience:
- Experience in a leadership or consultative role in a behavioral health setting particularly within a childrens mental health system is preferred.
- Experience in policy development quality assurance and managing healthcare contracts is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric best practices child and adolescent psychiatric care and CARF standards.
- Ability to provide consultation and training to a variety of stakeholders including healthcare professionals and administrators.
- Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to provide direct psychiatric services as needed.
