Title: Windows Server System Administrator

Location: Washington DC onsite
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Windows Server System Administrator to design implement and maintain our enterprise Windows server infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in Windows Server technologies and a proven track record of managing complex enterprise environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Design implement and maintain Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy
- Lead the planning and execution of server upgrades patches and maintenance activities
- Manage and optimize virtualization platforms (HyperV/VMware) and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Monitor system performance and capacity planning
- Develop and maintain documentation for systems processes and procedures
- Provide escalated technical support and troubleshooting
- Mentor junior system administrators and provide technical guidance
- Participate in oncall rotation for critical system support
Technical Requirements
Required Skills
- 7 years of experience administering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
- Expert knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy DNS and DHCP
- Strong experience with virtualization technologies (HyperV and/or VMware)
- Proven experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP routing firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimization
- Microsoft certifications (MCSE MCSA or newer rolebased certifications)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (SCCM Ansible)
- Experience with container technologies (Docker Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Experience with security compliance frameworks HIPAA
