Job Description
Job Objective:
Senior System Administrator is responsible for the design deployment management and optimization of the Banks Information Technology Systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring high availability security and optimal performance of critical systems storage Backups and virtualization.
Senior System Administrator is responsible for the design deployment management and optimization of the Banks Information Technology Systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring high availability security and optimal performance of critical systems storage Backups and virtualization.
Key Responsibilities:
Storage Administration:
- Analyze design implement and support enterpriselevel storage and backup infrastructure architecture that ensures high levels of data quality and availability.
- Configure manage and maintain storage hardware and software including SANs NAS devices and DAS systems
- Perform regular updates patches and firmware upgrades of Storage.
- Monitor storage system performance resource utilization and availability.
- Identify and resolve storagerelated performance issues
- Implement storage performance tuning and optimization
- Assess storage capacity requirements and plan for future growth
- Allocate and manage storage resources efficiently
- Set up monitoring tools to track storage system health and performance
- Generate and analyze storagerelated reports and alerts
Data Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data
- Configure and schedule regular backups of critical data and systems
- Perform data restores as needed including filelevel and systemlevel restores
- Define data retention policies and archive strategies to optimize storage resources
- Manage longterm data archives and ensure compliance with data retention regulations
- Conduct data backups verify data integrity and execute recovery procedures
Virtualization:
- Handson experience with VMware Oracle OVS vCenter and other virtualization technologies.
- Assist System Manager with budgeting exercise
- Infrastructure monitoring & HDMS tierII ticket resolution
Audit Compliance and Security Assurance:
- Monitor and assess the efficiency and usage of storage and backup environment and develop action plans for improvement
- Implement and ensure full compliance with the policy and procedures of the Data Center
- Report to Data Center Manager the status of all events as per the escalation procedures.
- Enforce data access policies and compliance with data security regulations
- Assess Backups and storage capacity requirements and plan for future growth
- 24x7x365 systems availability and support
Requirements
- Master/Bachelor in IT/ Engineering / Computer Science
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with 23 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent in a large organization with multibranch architecture.
- Proven experience as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies including SAN NAS and DAS.
- Familiarity with storage virtualization and virtualization technologies
- Strong expertise in Storage backups server system administration and virtualization technologies
- Extensive experience as a System Administrator with a proven track record of managing complex IT systems
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
- Handson experience with VMware Oracle OVS vCenter & and relevant virtualization technologies.
- Ability to work independently on projects and duties without constant supervision.
- Exhibits and upholds Bank s values and social performance objectives
Proven experience as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and DAS. Education
Minimum Bachelors and preferably Masters in Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Engineering Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar position or equivalent in a large organization with multi-branch architecture.
