Job Description
Job Summary:
1. Manage and maintain IBM i (formerly AS400) systems.
2. Oversee system performance security backup and recovery processes.
3. Install configure and update IBM iSeries/AS400 hardware and software.
4. Manage operating system patches and monitor system performance.
5. Handle user profiles roles and permissions management.
6. Implement access control and security best practices.
7. Monitor for potential security breaches and perform audits for compliance.
8. Establish and manage backup routines recovery strategies and disaster recovery plans.
9. Conduct regular testing to ensure data protection and business continuity.
10. Utilize job scheduling tools to automate routine jobs and system operations.
11. Support the IBM Db2 for i database including performance tuning database maintenance and managing storage allocations.
12. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
13. Collaborate with vendors and support teams as needed.
14. Provide support and training to endusers on IBM i systems.
15. Maintain documentation on system configurations procedures and best practices.
16. Generate regular reports on system performance security and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
1. Experience with IBM i (AS400) systems.
2. Proficiency in CL programming IBM i OS and IBM i Access Client Solutions.
3. Knowledge of SQL and Db2 for i for database management and optimization.
4. Familiarity with security practices and job scheduling tools.
5. Strong problemsolving skills and experience in troubleshooting and incident management.
6. IBM Certified System Administrator certification can be beneficial.
7. Familiarity with BRMS High Availability solutions and performance tuning for AS400 environments.
