Job Description
Job Title: Storage Administrator
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Storage Administrator to manage and optimize our organizations storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring maintaining and troubleshooting storage systems to ensure high availability data integrity and disaster recovery preparedness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain storage systems including SAN (Storage Area Network) NAS (Network Attached Storage) and cloud storage solutions.
- Configure deploy and troubleshoot storage hardware and software.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity ensuring efficient utilization and availability.
- Perform routine backups data replication and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security and data governance standards for stored data.
- Implement data retention policies and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support server network and virtualization infrastructure.
- Document storage configurations procedures and incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storagerelated issues escalating as necessary.
- Participate in planning and execution of storage upgrades and migrations.
- Maintain disaster recovery and backup solutions testing them regularly for reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies (SAN NAS DAS).
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud storage platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in storage management tools (e.g. EMC NetApp HP 3PAR).
- Understanding of data security encryption and compliance frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware HyperV).
- Knowledge of storage automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell Python).
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Work Environment:
- Fulltime position with potential oncall duties.
- Some travel may be required for system installations or upgrades.
