Job Description: Network Administrator
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to maintain upgrade and manage our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of IT networks to support business objectives while maintaining network security and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Maintenance:
- Install configure and maintain network hardware software and systems.
- Design and implement network solutions to optimize performance and scalability.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform diagnostics and resolve network connectivity issues for LAN/WAN firewalls and VPNs.
- Security Management:
- Ensure the security of the network infrastructure by implementing firewalls access controls and other protective measures.
- Regularly update and patch systems to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations processes and changes.
- Provide regular reports on network status performance metrics and incidents.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT teams to support system upgrades and integration projects.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
- Handson experience with routers switches firewalls and VPNs.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Wireshark).
- Familiarity with cloudbased networking (AWS Azure or Google Cloud).
- Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include CCNA CCNP CompTIA Network or equivalent.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for oncall support and occasional offhours maintenance.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV) is a plus.
