Job Description

Job Description

  • Perform tasks involving fiber optic splicing potting mechanical and electronic components HiPot testing hydrostaticpressure testing and soldering of electrical and electronic assemblies.
  • Conduct coarse and fine adjustments using hand tools precision measuring devices and specialized equipment such as vacuum equipment digital indicators optical microscopes height gauges Vernier gauges micrometers and electronic testing fixtures.
  • Assemble and manage potting electromechanical and fiberoptic assemblies.
  • Handle inspect clean and prepare delicate and sensitive optical components and assemblies.
  • Understand and utilize a wide range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts including fiber optics solder resistors diodes capacitors relays transformers coils switches PC boards epoxies and crimping tools.
  • Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Work with adhesives precision assembly tools and equipment such as fusion splicers highprecision fiber cleavers polishing machines and test tools.
  • Guide coach and mentor less experienced team members while serving as a positive role model for the team.
  • Assist with production scheduling control and onthejob training.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new training programs and introduce innovative processes and sequences for production areas.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and projects to enhance program quality cost efficiency and scheduling.
  • Implement and sustain the 5S1 program to maintain a clean orderly and safe work environment.
  • Assist in leading daily GEMBA meetings updating board contents and tracking action items and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD standards chemical safety and audit requirements for calibrated tooling testing tools and equipment.
  • Support tooling and equipment needs by recommending and planning designs for production tools and testing equipment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of fiber optics ability to read and interpret prints and schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to travel up to 25% of the calendar year.

Education:

  • Twoyear postsecondary/associate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or
  • Some college in a technical discipline or
  • Technical School Training or
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 6 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
