Job Description

This is a remote position.

How would you like to be with a company involved in the sustainability and green building industry We re a rapidly growing green building and energy consulting firm in immediate need of a Parttime Project Based Energy Efficiency Technical Consultant. Someone motivated by the challenge to expand both his or her technical skills in the support of a topflight consulting group. We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Technical Consultant to perform energy and water audits in compliance with the latest industry standards as outlined by the San José Municipal Code Chapter 17.85. The ideal candidate should have two or more years of auditing experience and hold at least one of the specified certifications below. This role involves conducting thorough assessments certifying audit reports and ensuring compliance with applicable ordinances and client requirements.

Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner
Willingness to become a LEED AP and an ICC CALGreen Inspector
Architecture engineering or environmental studies degree (completed or inprogress) or equivalent combinations of technical training
Familiarity with construction equipment and techniques drawings and specifications building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

.

This is a parttime nonexempt projectbased position.

.

Must be located in the US and willing to work in Pacific Standard Time

.

At least have two (2) years of experience conducting energy and/or water audits.

.

Certification (must hold at least one of the following):


DOE Better Buildings Recognized Program Certification for Building Energy Auditors or Energy Managers.
Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of California.
Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
System Maintenance Administrator (SMA) or System Maintenance Technician (SMT) by BOMI International.
High Performance Building Design Professional (HPBD) or Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) by ASHRAE.
Multifamily Building Analyst (MFBA) by the Building Performance Institute (for multifamily residential buildings).
Other certifications deemed appropriate by the Director of the Department.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with local state and federal energy and water efficiency regulations.

Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.

.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

.

Ability to work independently and deliver results on time.


Working Conditions:
.

Work remotely approximately 20 hours per week

.

Must be able to Individually lift up to 25 pounds
