Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Custom Development & Automation:
Develop custom features tools and workflows for Civil 3D using .NET (C# VB.NET) and AutoCAD APIs (ObjectARX Civil 3D SDK).
Automate design processes data handling and repetitive tasks to enhance productivity.
Integration & Data Management:
Build integrations between Civil 3D and other platforms (e.g. GIS systems databases) for seamless data exchange.
Work with document management systems like Autodesk Vault to support efficient data management.
User Support & Training:
Provide support for endusers troubleshoot issues and enhance custom tools.
Create training materials and conduct training sessions on new workflows and tools.
Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
Work closely with engineers and designers to understand project needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest Civil 3D features and Autodesk developments to ensure best practices are followed.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Conduct testing and debugging of custom solutions to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
Implement error handling logging and ensure tools are stable and scalable.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D: Knowledge of design tools like corridors grading alignments and surface modeling.
Programming: Strong experience with .NET (C# VB.NET) and AutoCAD API (ObjectARX Civil 3D SDK).
Software Development: Expertise in objectoriented programming version control (e.g. Git) and software design patterns.
API Integration: Experience with API development integration and automating workflows within Civil 3D.
GIS & Data Integration: Familiarity with GIS tools data transformation (ETL) and integrating with other systems is a plus.
Experience:
35 years of experience in software development with at least 2 years focused on Autodesk Civil 3D customization.
Experience developing custom tools or addins for Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Civil Engineering or related field.
Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD development certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of Autodesk Revit or InfraWorks integration with Civil 3D.
2+ years experience in C++ and have excellent codecraft Experience/knowledge of CAD or 3D graphics APIs like OpenGL, Three.JS or WebGL, etc. Completed internships /projects on above mentioned technologies will be a plus Open and willing to learn and grasp new technologies Take ownership of assigned tasks Be proactive and take keen interest in grabbing opportunities Fluent in verbal and written communication
