Job Description: Overview: Weare looking for an experienced 3D printer engineer professional to join our team. You will be responsible for 3D printers and other related products. If you have limited knowledge of 3D printers but possess a strong understanding of hardware and software development such as robotics it would still meet our requirements. The opportunity to develop a proprietary 3D printer within a company is quite rare making this a valuable and unique experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. 3D Printer Design and Development including hardware and software development: Information Gathering: Conduct research and gather critical information through tools like Business Model Canvas (BMC) and market analysis to identify user needs industry trends and competitive benchmarks. Use these insights to guide design and development strategies for 3D printers. Design: Develop and design cuttingedge 3D printers ensuring they are efficient reliable and meet the specific needs of prosthetic manufacturing. Slicer optimization: Optimize slicing software settings to improve printing accuracy speed and material efficiency ensuring the best possible results for prosthetic applications.
2. Quality Assurance 3DPrinter Quality Control: Oversee the quality control processes for the 3D printers themselves ensuring they meet design specifications reliability and durability standards. 3DPrinted Object Quality Control: Implement rigorous testing and evaluation of 3Dprinted parts focusing on strength accuracy and surface finish to ensure they meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of prosthetics.
3. Project Management Planning and Execution: Manage timelines budgets and resources for 3D printer development and production projects ensuring milestones are met efficiently. RiskAssessment: Identify potential risks in the production process and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Research Project AcademicPresentations: Conduct and present research findings at academic conferences focusing on advancements in 3D printing technology and its application in prosthetics manufacturing. Publish research papers in peerreviewed journals to contribute to industry knowledge and showcase innovation. Collaborations with Other Companies: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with other companies leveraging shared expertise and resources to accelerate innovation and improve the scalability and effectiveness of 3D printing technologies in the prosthetics field.
5. Documentation and Compliance: Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for 3D printer designs assembly instructions and maintenance procedures. Compliance: Ensure all 3D printers comply with relevant industry standards and regulations maintaining thorough records for auditing and quality assurance purposes.
6. Collaboration and Support: TeamCollaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams including software engineers AI specialists and prosthetics designers to integrate 3D printers into the broader production ecosystem. Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers ensuring proper usage and troubleshooting of 3D printers.
7. Team and Department Management TeamManagement: Oversee and manage team members involved in the development and production of 3D printers ensuring alignment with project goals timelines and quality standards. Provide mentorship and guidance to foster skill development and maintain a productive team environment. Department Operations: Take responsibility for the management of the department including resource allocation setting priorities and developing strategies to align departmental objectives with broader organizational goals. Ensure effective communication and collaboration between teams and other departments.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering manufacturing or related field.
5yearswork experience as a mechanical engineer.
Experience with CAD software Solid works CATIA Fusion 360 etc.
Experience of software development Experience of raspberrypi. Experience of programming languages anything is fine.
Good verbal and written communicator in English
Selfmotivated selfdisciplined and can do the job with minimal supervision
Standard computer skills: Word Excel email online communication tools (slack etc.)
Preferences:
Experiences of 3D printing
Professional certification in 3D printing or additive manufacturing is a plus.
Knowledge of quality control procedures and statistical process control.
Indepth knowledge of 3D printing technologies materials and processes.
The ability to work under strict deadlines without letting the shortage of time affect the quality of work.
