Job Description

Our client is a is a nonprofit membershipbased association dedicated to serving professionals in risk management and insurance within higher education institutions. They are looking for an IT Manager to join their team.

The IT Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the organizations IT strategy while managing daytoday technology operations. This role ensures the reliability security and scalability of their IT systems and services supporting both staff and members. The IT Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning technology solutions with organizational objectives overseeing IT projects and fostering innovation to enhance business operations and member engagement. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Membership & Marketing to lead digital transformation initiatives and improve efficiency across all programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Strategy & Management: Develop and execute IT strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain IT systems including applications databases and networks ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Helpdesk Support: Lead helpdesk operations to resolve staff and member technical issues efficiently.
  • Cybersecurity: Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • IT Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of hardware networking systems telecommunications and other infrastructure components.
  • Technology Projects: Plan execute and manage IT projects such as new software implementations system integrations and upgrades.
  • Staff Training & Support: Provide IT onboarding training and ongoing support for staff to ensure they effectively utilize technology tools.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure quality and costefficiency.
  • Business Continuity: Ensure systems and processes are in place for data backup disaster recovery and overall business continuity.
  • Digital Innovation: Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement innovative technology solutions to improve organizational and member outcomes.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working within associations or memberbased organizations.
  • Familiarity with MemberSuite and Higher Logic systems.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners.
  • Microsoft 365 proficient.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of database design administration and management systems.
  • Proficiency in web technologies including web markup languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into practical IT solutions.
  • Experience with software development methodologies infrastructure management and cybersecurity practices.
  • Proven project management skills in deploying new platforms processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of networking and telecommunications including provisioning for internet telephony and security systems.
  • Familiarity with association management systems and knowledge base platforms.

Work Environment:

This position is based in Bloomington IN. with a hybrid work environment. Candidates must be available to work onsite for the first 100 days to ensure a smooth transition and integration into the organizations systems and processes and 14 days per week thereafter depending on project. Limited travel required.
