Job Description

Traveling Alarm Technician

This is a travel position up to 75% of the time from your home location.

We are currently seeking Fire Alarm Technicians for project assignments spanning various locations in the United States.

We are searching for proactive and dependable fire alarm technicians who can tackle tasks independently and deliver solutions effectively. Responsibilities:

  • Installation repair or upgrade of fire alarm systems as per building plans and electrical layouts
  • Mounting sensors at designated locations and conducting necessary tasks such as drilling holes for cabling
  • Ensuring compliance with current codes and regulations
  • Running low voltage cabling in commercial buildings including concrete wall drilling and conduit work
  • Completing all wiring connections and equipment installations to meet electrical and fire codes
  • Testing to ensure the operational status of newly installed fire alarm systems and components
  • Troubleshooting new system installations to ensure functionality and compliance with codes and requirements

Requirements:

  • NICET certification (Preferred)
  • Availability for travel
  • Valid staterequired Physical Security or Life Safety licenses
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and site maps
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards including NFPA 70 and 72
  • Experience in burglar alarms access control and CCTV is advantageous
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting switches WiFi and routers
  • Certification to operate BOOM or scissor lifts with the ability to work at heights
  • Possession of basic telecommunication tools PPE and reliable transportation
  • Clean driving record and valid drivers license
