Perform basic to advanced ultrasound services including abdominal Ob/Gyn cardiac vascular musculoskeletal and small parts.
Examine patients clinical history to identify the examinations purpose.
Frame clinical questions that the examination should answer.
Expand the examination as required based on clinical history.
Assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing ultrasound studies.
Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history.
Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of ultrasound Lab and its equipment.
Act as a resource to other staff physicians and students regarding equipment techniques procedures and studies.
Work closely with the ultrasound team to ensure quality processes and adherence to protocols.
Implement protocols as new technology evolves and ensure implementation and adherence to system standards.
Assure the operation of equipment by performing quality checks and troubleshooting.
Meet all qualifications for any two of these modalities: Ob/Gyn cardiac vascular musculoskeletal or small parts.
Have knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic methods instrumentation and techniques.
Be knowledgeable about relevant anatomy and physiology for each different specialty.
Follow proper infection control and precautionary procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy as per relevant laws.
Possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare providers including other sonographers physicians and nurses.
Be skilled in the utilization of computers and medical equipment.
Hold a degree from an accredited program or have 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
Hold at least two of the required certifications/licenses.
Be wellversed with approved clinical protocols for each type of ultrasound examination to be performed.
Work a minimum of 25% of the time in the second modality.
Have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or able to obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
