Perform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with appropriate level of skill
Provide age specific care to patients of all ages
Serve as a professional resource to physicians nursing staff and all other hospital staff
Accurately perform all echocardiogram studies ordered by physicians
Accurately perform other cardiac diagnostic studies as assigned
Correctly utilize mechanical devices to provide the best diagnostic information to cardiology physicians
Accurately assess hospital information systems for scheduling processing and correct charging of all studies
Implement appropriate infection control practices and demonstrate a working knowledge of aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection
Interact with students from contracted colleges and universities providing preceptorship and clinical guidance
Demonstrate the ability to perform cardiac diagnostic tests following age specific guidelines and procedures
Required education: High School Diploma or GED Registered Cardiac Sonographer
Required experience: Successful completion of certification program and/or two years handson experience with echocardiography
Preferred experience: Extensive experience in echocardiography studies in a hospital setting and in both pediatric and neonatal echocardiography
Preferred education: Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography
