Developing ideas: Generating creative ideas and new ways to make art
Creating models: Sketching out ideas and making models to guide their work
Selecting materials: Choosing materials based on color texture strength and other criteria
Meeting deadlines: Working to meet deadlines and adhere to health and safety procedures
Managing projects: Planning projects managing workflow and evaluating progress
Promoting work: Promoting their work through networking attending events and writing press releases
Writing proposals: Writing project proposals for galleries competitions or artist residencies
Negotiating sales: Negotiating sales or commissions
Managing finances: Creating and managing a budget calculating expenditures and managing tax and selfemployment issues
Teaching: Teaching students the techniques and methods of drawing painting sculpting and other forms of artistic expression
Artists can work in a variety of roles including: multimedia artists animators graphic designers and fine artists.
While there is no required degree for an artist some have a bachelors or associates degree in art. They must also have a demonstrable portfolio
