Job Description: Maintenance Fitter and Welder

Company Overview

Join Our Client a leading manufacturer with over 30 years of experience specializing in fibreglass steel and Glasteel II storage tanks for the fuel chemical water and waste industries. Our production plants are strategically located in Newcastle NSW and Perth WA. We pride ourselves on delivering costeffective and durable solutions that protect the environment catering to both underground and aboveground hydrocarbon storage applications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Execute welding tasks using various techniques to fabricate and assemble components.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to streamline operations and enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in welding and mechanical fitting particularly in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles.
  • Demonstrated handson experience with different welding techniques and equipment.

Desired Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance fitting and welding.
  • Experience in manufacturing within the fibreglass or steel industries is preferred.
  • Previous roles in a similar technical capacity are advantageous.
