Job Description
SAP ABAP IDOC Consultant Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement IDocs (Intermediate Documents) for data exchange and integration between SAP systems and thirdparty applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for IDoc structures.
- Develop ABAP programs to support IDoc functionalities including custom enhancements reports and transactions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot IDoc processing for successful data transmission handling errors and performing root cause analysis.
- Configure Partner Profiles Ports Segments and Message Types for IDoc communication.
- Implement error handling and recovery processes to manage failed IDocs.
- Work with SAP ALE (Application Link Enabling) RFC (Remote Function Call) and BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces) to set up IDoc interfaces.
- Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure integration needs are met.
- Provide technical documentation user training and support for IDoc interfaces.
- Perform unit testing integration testing and support user acceptance testing for IDocrelated developments.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in ABAP development particularly in SAP IDoc processing enhancements and customizations.
- Indepth knowledge of IDoc architecture structure and configuration.
- Proficiency in SAP ALE/IDoc integration message control and handling of inbound and outbound IDocs.
- Familiarity with SAP RFC BAPI and BDC for integration with external systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in IDoc error handling debugging and performance optimization.
- Experience with crossfunctional modules like SD MM FI and PP for integration points.
- Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) standards and protocols is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
