Job Description
Job Title: DP Mathematics Teacher Key Responsibilities:
-
Plan and Deliver Lessons:
- Teach Mathematics courses under the IB DP curriculum such as:
- Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (SL/HL)
- Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (SL/HL)
- Create lesson plans that align with IB standards and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Teach Mathematics courses under the IB DP curriculum such as:

Assess and Evaluate:
- Design formative and summative assessments in accordance with IB guidelines.
- Provide constructive feedback and monitor student progress.

Curriculum Development:
- Develop and update teaching resources to reflect the rigor and objectives of the DP curriculum.
- Integrate technology and realworld applications into lessons.

Student Support:
- Provide academic guidance and support to students including exam preparation.
- Assist with extended essays and other project components as required.

Professional Development:
- Stay updated on IB developments through workshops training and collaboration with colleagues.
- Participate in school meetings and professional development activities.

Collaboration:
- Work with colleagues to ensure consistency in the delivery of the DP program.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects and schoolwide initiatives.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Prepare reports for students parents and school management.

Engage with IB Philosophy:
- Promote the values of the IB learner profile fostering skills such as critical thinking inquiry and reflection.

Education:
- A Bachelors degree in Mathematics or a related field (a Masters degree is preferred).
- A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE B.Ed. or equivalent).

Experience:
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level preferably within the IB DP framework.
- Familiarity with IB DP standards assessment criteria and pedagogy.

Skills:
- Strong command of Mathematics and its applications.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching.
- Previous experience with the IB DP curriculum.
- IB certification (e.g. Category 1 2 or 3 training in Mathematics).
- Experience supporting students with Extended Essays in Mathematics or related fields.
