Job Description
interior designers job is to create functional aesthetically pleasing spaces by working with clients to understand their needs and then designing the space to meet those needs. Here are some of the responsibilities of an interior designer:
Client collaboration
Work with clients to understand their goals and requirements for the project
Design
Create preliminary sketches and detailed 2D and 3D plans
Materials and furnishings
Select materials and furnishings such as lighting furniture wall finishes flooring and plumbing fixtures
Project management
Create a timeline for the project estimate costs and place orders for materials
Construction
Oversee construction and coordinate with contractors to implement the plans
Client satisfaction
Visit the site after the project is complete to ensure the client is satisfied
Research
Research and gather information and photographs relating to the project
Trend awareness
Maintain current knowledge of trends and materials techniques and other developments in interior design
Interior designers can work in a variety of settings including hotels resorts cafes entertainment venues educational institutions healthcare facilities and public spaces.
