Roles and responsibilities
- Lead the achievement of Biostatistics function and program goals.
- Accountable for Biostatistics department and program budgets as well as resource optimization.
- Help Head of Biometrics develop long term department goals and expand the capabilities of Biometrics
- Implement internal and external best practices development.
- Drive and influence cross-functional decision making that have a long-term impact and may have significant material impact on MyoKardia.
- Develop and lead multi-year strategy for Biostatistics that has significant long-term impact to MyoKardia.
- Build and lead cross functional teams to enhance work processes and operational efficiencies that impact Biometrics, Clinical Development and company as a whole.
- Ensure Biostatistics and Biometrics functions maintain best practices and scale for MyoKardia.
- Recognized as an influential leader in Biostatistics internally and externally. Strategic thinker that influences the direction and impact of functions outside of Biostatistics.
- Expert in developing the talent within Biostatistics and viewed as a mentor and leader who sets a model for junior staff.
- Effectively develop and communicate Biostatistics and project recommendations that drive key decisions made by governing bodies.
- Lead and implement cross-functional project plans and budgets when appropriate.
- Develop strategies that anticipate and address potential risks, both within programs and across functional areas.
- Develop and propose corporate or organizational policies and authorize their implementation and be accountable for results.
- Build corporate-wide data analytics capabilities through collection and analysis of multiple data sources to support decision making and product/process quality improvement.
Qualifications
- PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics.
- 12+ years of experience in clinical biostatistics with significant trial design and data analysis responsibilities for clinical trials.
- 6+ years of managing, mentoring and developing biostatistics staff.
- Outstanding leader in developing, communicating and implementing strategies to advance functional and corporate objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in growing and building biostatistics function.
- Solution orientated for complex clinical questions and translation of these to statistical hypothesis in study design.
- Fluency with statistical analysis programing software.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, project management, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communicator with superb ability to explain statistical methodologies and consequences of decisions in lay terms and understand requests for complex analyses.
