Job Description
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal state and local tax returns ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the companys financial goals.
- Analyze financial data to identify taxsaving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax authorities ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
- Provide guidance on accounting for income taxes in accordance with SOX requirements.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate accounting for debits credits accounts payable and overall account management.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Train and mentor junior staff within the tax department promoting professional development.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles including LIHTC (LowIncome Housing Tax Credit) regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Proven experience in managing tax compliance processes and conducting audits.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex tax concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
