Job Description
Firmware Engineer Quantum Computing (Hybrid Palo Alto CA)
We are looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer for a leading Quantum Computing company. This role will join the clients Electronic SubSystems team to support firmware design development and maintenance activities. Experience with ST Microcontrollers is required.
This is a 3 month contract (extensions or conversion to FTE possible) 40 hour/week role. This is a hybrid role (34 days per week onsite) in Palo Alto CA.
This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design scalable firmware architecture for electronics control systems.
- Collaborate with the hardware team to define PCB architecture communications buses design MCUs and components selection.
- Bring up and debug new hardware in the lab.
- Apply best practices for firmware development test and deployment.
- Follow modular design principles ensuring each component of the firmware is functionally independent reusable and testable.
- Create reports and documentation
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in firmware or embedded systems development preferably in environments involving highperformance precision engineering.
- Familiarity with a broad range of sensors peripherals and communication buses.
- Experience with ST Microcontrollers.
- Experience in test driven development with Python
- Proficient in C or C.
- Experience in RTOS and bare metal platform development.
- Experience with MCU driver development for peripherals.
- Experience developing with ARM MCUs.
- Comfortable with hardware debugging tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience designing software for complex systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work crossfunctionally with hardware and system architecture teams.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and protocol development.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
