Job Title: Construction Senior Controller/CFO
Location: New York NY

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Senior Controller/CFO to oversee and drive all financial functions for a growing construction firm in New York NY. This role is pivotal in managing financial planning strategy and reporting while ensuring alignment with the companys short and longterm goals. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in construction accounting team leadership and strategic financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Plan manage and coordinate all financial activities.
    • Provide accurate analysis of budgets forecasts and financial results.
    • Lead the monthly quarterly and annual close processes and ensure timely reporting.
  • Transactional Accounting Oversight:

    • Supervise AR AP payroll and job costing processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all accounting policies and regulatory standards.
  • Risk & Audit Management:

    • Collaborate with the Risk Manager on Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) audits and reporting.
    • Coordinate activities with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Policy and Process Optimization:

    • Evaluate and enhance financial policies controls and systems for efficiency and scalability.
    • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Hire train mentor and manage accounting staff.
    • Collaborate with Operations and Project Management teams to analyze workinprogress (WIP) reports and generate forecasts.
    • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Team on financial objectives.
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis:

    • Develop and present annual budgets financial forecasts and projections.
    • Provide insights and strategic decision support to ownership and leadership.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:

    • Ensure timely preparation of tax filings and address all taxrelated matters.
    • Oversee financial insurance corporate CCIP 401K and sales tax audits.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Certification:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (MBA MS or CPA preferred).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 15 years in construction accounting with at least 5 years in a Controller role.
    • Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
    • Proficient in Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel.
  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of construction accounting processes and controls.
    • Proven ability to hire train and develop highperforming accounting teams.
    • Excellent communication analytical and problemsolving skills.
    • Operational focus with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
