Job Description
Position: Pharmacist Oncology
Start Date: 12/9/2024
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Pittsfield MA 01201
Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days8
Shift Notes: MondayFriday 7a3.30p and/or 8ap and/or 8.30a5p. Must be available for any/all shifts as needed 40hr gt
Weekend Requirements: None/ Holiday Rotation required
OnCall Requirements: No Call

The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology is responsible for providing patientcentered care in a multidisciplinary practice setting with pharmacists nurses physicians and other personnel.
Services provided include (but are not limited to):
- Assessing patient therapy for appropriateness incorporating agespecific modifications and clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.
- They will also conduct clinical research and other professional development programs.
- He/she will serve as a liaison to other departments at the Cancer and Infusion Center by providing operational support and educational services for new treatment regimens.
- The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology demonstrates indepth knowledge of the regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures chemotherapy and other sterile products and supervises Pharmacy technicians and other support personnel.
- Provides oversight and participates in maintaining and storing an adequate inventory of all medication required for the practice.
- Develop and update department and nursing policies.
- Work with the Oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.
- 5years of extensive acute care clinical experience
- Ability to mix compounds REQUIRED
- Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required
- Completion of ASHPaccredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is STRONGLY preferred.
- Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification is required and is STRONGLY preferred
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently without direct supervision within established policy.
- Applicant must be capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
