Qualifications & Experience
To thrive in this role youll need:
- Proven experience: As a Truck Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
- Trade certification: Relevant and certified qualifications.
- Knowledge of Japanese trucks: Highly advantageous.
- HR licence: Desirable but not essential.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and quickthinking skills.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- A high degree of integrity and a commitment to safety.
- Outstanding customer service and rapportbuilding capabilities.
- The ability to mentor and coach apprentices and trainees.
What Youll Do
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting and repairing dieselengine vehicles.
- Safely operating tools machinery and diagnostic equipment.
- Performing routine repairs like oil and tyre changes.
- Accurately interpreting diagnostic test results.
- Creating and explaining detailed inspection reports and repair plans to customers.
- Advising customers on repair options and costs.
- Training and mentoring apprentices and junior staff.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with other mechanics to achieve service excellence.
