Job Responsibilities
As a Preoperative Nurse you will:
- Provide patientcentered care in the preoperative area for patients of all ages.
- Assess and prepare patients for surgery ensuring they understand the procedure and are ready for the experience.
- Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver the highest level of care.
- Administer medications and treatments per surgical protocols.
- Educate patients and their families about the preoperative process and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold Texas Nurse Practice Act standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree).
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Active RN license.
- CPRBCLS certification.
- ACLS certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Experience: No previous experience required; training provided.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide care in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of preoperative nursing processes and patient safety protocols.
