The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up operating and maintaining CNC machines to perform various machining operations on metal and plastic parts. This role requires strong technical skills attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up CNC machines by installing and adjusting tools fixtures and attachments.
Input and edit CNC programs based on work orders and blueprints.
Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications.
Quality Control:
Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
Make adjustments to machine settings to correct any discrepancies.
Blueprint and Specification Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and work orders.
Understand machining instructions and tolerances.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines including cleaning and lubricating.
Identify and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
Replace worn or damaged machine parts and tools.
