Role Overview
As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Center Emergency Department you will be responsible for providing highquality efficient care to patients of all ages and acuities. Your duties will include:
- Emergency Care: Provide fast compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide variety of illnesses injuries and trauma in a highacuity highvolume environment.
- Prioritization: Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively ensuring patient safety and timely interventions.
- Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team of physicians nurses and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for trauma patients.
- Patient Interaction: Provide clear communication to patients and families ensuring they understand their care plan and expected outcomes.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all safety protocols including those defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Adaptability: Handle the unpredictable pace and intensity of the Emergency Department with calm and urgency.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma AD or BSN).
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- CPRBLS
- ACLS (required before completion of orientation)
- TNCC (within 18 months of hire)
- ENPC and/or PALS (before completion of orientation)
- NIHSS (required before completion of orientation)
- Experience: Open to new graduates and experienced nurses in emergency trauma or critical care settings.
- Skills:
- SelfInitiative: Ability to contribute actively to emergency department flow and throughput.
- Sense of Urgency: Respond to highpressure situations swiftly and effectively.
- Adaptability: Be able to adjust care delivery in response to rapidly changing patient needs.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and uphold hospital decorum at all times.
