AV Sales Engineer (Detroit MI)
Our client is a leader in offering premium services and products to create highimpact integrated spaces. Their Audiovisual Solutions Team has installed some of the largest commercial technology solutions in the market ranging from $50K to $2M. They partner with forwardthinking AV manufacturers like Crestron Biamp Planar Samsung Barco and more to deliver seamless engaging solutions. Our client is currently seeking an AV Sales Engineer. They are interested in a driven and organized professional who is selfdirected goaloriented and adept at leading conversations while building strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
This role focuses on generating sales for the Audiovisual team by identifying new opportunities developing client relationships and maintaining a consistent sales flow. The AV Sales Engineer is expected to leverage technical knowledge to enhance client interactions and collaborate effectively with internal teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and converting sales prospects providing accurate forecasts and activity reports.
- Offering presales support by addressing technical queries and participating in client meetings.
- Communicating complex technical concepts in an accessible way to various audiences including IT facilities and executivelevel clients.
- Translating client requirements into basic system design concepts for efficient collaboration with system design engineering.
- Exploring crossselling and upselling opportunities to present the full range of products and services.
- Employing a consultative sales approach to understand client needs thoroughly.
- Developing competitive price quotations and bid responses.
- Preparing contracts and pricing strategies for targeted accounts.
- Collaborating with project management design engineering and field teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Expanding the existing client base and generating new business through strategic sales plans.
- Building relationships with manufacturer sales teams and staying updated on industry trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a fouryear degree is preferred.
- 35 years of experience in direct selling of audiovisual solutions technical systems or SaaS.
- 2 years of experience in system design engineering or an advanced technical role.
- Ability to present and demonstrate AV technology solutions to clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements: University graduate or equivalent experience with further studies in AV installation, data or voice communications, or drafting. Minimum of 4 years' experience in an electrical and/or communications environment. Understanding of project management practices and customer service obligations. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, communications, and computer products and equipment. Proficiency in oral and written English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Familiarity with building construction and blueprint reading. Experience with the AV Commercial Integrator Navigate system, specifically for change orders and delay notices feedback to the Project Manager. CTS-I Certification Preferred
Education
