What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with scholars parents and other staff members to develop IEPs.
- Implement instructional therapeutic or skill development programs for assigned scholars and provide written evidence of preparation as required.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of scholars.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the IEP.
- Provide or supervise personal care medical care and feeding of scholars as stated in the IEP.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of scholars.
- Consult with classroom teachers regarding the management of scholar behavior according to the IEP.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve jobrelated skills.
- Stay informed of and comply with federal state district and school regulations and policies for special education teachers.
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Maintain dependable performance and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
- Experience with the IEP goalsetting process and implementation.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
