Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


To attend all laundry and dry-cleaning operations, following the hotel standards and procedures.
To follow the linen and uniforms laundry flows and to respect the established cycles and instructions.
To have a full knowledge of all the textiles and their proper care.
To use all the machines and equipment with proper knowledge, care and maintenance.
To handle and store chemicals with proper care, and to use correct formulas, following all healthy and safety regulations.
To immediately report to superior any damage or malfunctioning in the laundry equipment or operations, including linen and uniforms status.
To maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the working area and stores.
To ensure proper handling of lost and found items.
Laundry Processing: Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes or linen, ensuring that all items are cleaned to a high standard.
Equipment Maintenance: Operating laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and steamers. Ensuring they are functioning properly and performing basic maintenance.
Inventory Management: Monitoring linen and laundry stock, ensuring adequate supply levels, and notifying supervisors of low stock.
Stain Removal: Identifying stains and using appropriate methods for stain removal.
Quality Control: Inspecting laundry items for damage and defects, reporting any issues for repairs or replacements.
Customer Service: Providing high-quality laundry services, maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude while interacting with clients or guests.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations.


Desired candidate profile

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring laundry is cleaned, folded, and processed according to required standards.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently to meet deadlines, especially in high-demand environments.
  • Physical Stamina: The role often involves standing for long hours, lifting heavy loads, and repetitive motions such as folding and ironing.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying stains, fabric issues, and finding solutions to ensure laundry is clean and presentable.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions, ask questions when necessary, and communicate effectively with team members or customers.
  • Knowledge of Laundry Equipment: Familiarity with different types of laundry equipment (e.g., industrial washing machines, dryers, steam presses) and cleaning products.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

3. Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is often required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred, but entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic may be considered.
  • Certifications (optional): Depending on the industry, certifications in laundry management or health and safety may be an advantage.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in a noisy environment.
