Job Description

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Utica NY 13502

Payrate:$80/hr

Duration: 13 Weeks contract

Guaranteed Hours: 40

  • Duties: Nuclear Medicine Tech under general supervision performs routine diagnostic procedures and may have individual responsibility for training and leading the work of other employees.
  • Qualifications: Nuclear Medicine Technologist NYS license/registration
  • ARRT or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine
  • Valid CPR certification

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and ensure their safety during procedures.
  • Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners to acquire diagnostic images.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret imaging results and provide accurate reports.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Document procedures and patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
  • State licensure or certification as required by regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating gamma cameras PET scanners and other nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a healthcare team.
  • Commitment to patient care safety and quality assurance.
