Job Title: Machining Engineer
Location: Columbus GA
Job Description:
1. NC Program Development:
- Analyze part prints manufacturing operation sheets and NX part models to develop and modify Numerical Control (NC) programs for various 2 3 4 and 5 axis machine tools.
- Utilize NX CAD/CAM graphical system and Turbosoft airfoil programming software for program development.
2. Technical Expertise:
- Provide machining and development teams with expertise on potential machining challenges and their impact on surface properties.
3. Program Refinement:
- Independently develop and refine NC programs showcasing proficiency and initiative in program optimization.
4. Process Optimization:
- Determine optimal feeds speeds and tool selection for a range of milling applications.
5. Collaboration and Optimization:
- Collaborate with machine operators and Manufacturing Engineers to optimize machining processes and enhance machine tool capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in engineering manufacturing technical or related industrial fields.
- 5 or more years of experience in programming 2 5 axis machine tools using Unigraphics and Vericut CAD/CAM software systems.
- Proficiency in CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) languages machining techniques and machine tool capabilities for effective program design.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles including experience with Kaizen events or involvement in continuous improvement programs (ACE 6S etc.).
