Job Description

Position Information

Type: Contract

Position: Portfolio Coach

Location: Must be local to Chicago (required to work onsite 3 days per week) Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays

Job Description:

Qualifications (must haves):

  • Seasoned Agile Coach having a total of 18 years of total experience
  • Working/Hands on experience with Agile teams using SAFe framework
  • Expert understanding of advanced and basic software development methodologies and fundamentals (Agile Scrum Kanban Lean Waterfall etc.)
  • Understanding of all facets of the software development life cycle
  • Experience with developing testing and deploying software utilizing a rapid iterative delivery method
  • Experience with continuous integration and testdriven development practices test automation and tools
  • Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (JIRA Azure DevOps)

Top IT Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Agile practical usage with 4 years as hands on Agile Coach
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required
  • Involvement in the Agile community
  • Agile Certifications such as SPC IC Agile Coaching certifications

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in execution of the Agile adoption strategy and rollout plans for identified portfolio
  • Embrace servant leadership and display the behaviors to invoke mindset shifts associated with Agile methods
  • Hands on involvement in helping leadership and teams adopt to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and establish the requisite practices ceremonies and processes
  • Coach peers teams and management on Agile concepts practices benefits and metrics
  • Lead and mentor a team of Scrum Masters as people manager
  • Evaluate and mentor new and existing Agile project teams
  • Mentor to other members in the delivery organization such as Managers Leads etc.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for Agile project teams
  • Establish implement and capture team metrics with the ability to roll up and provide an executive view
  • Actively participate in development programs to build inhouse capability and skills for roles such as Scrum Master Agile Coach Product Owner etc.
  • Continuous assessment and improvement of Agile maturity levels
