About the Role: We are hiring a Civil Field Engineer for our direct client a wellestablished firm specializing in civil infrastructure and land development. This role involves handson field engineering focusing on implementing sidewalks bikeways and urban trails. The ideal candidate is detailoriented enjoys problemsolving and thrives in collaborative environments. Key Responsibilities: - Travel to project sites (50 75% of the time) to perform fieldwork and oversee construction crews to ensure compliance with ADA TAS and PROWAG standards.
- Conduct walkthroughs with city project managers and general contractors to scope projects capturing details on base maps.
- Communicate effectively with property owners tenants and stakeholders to align project objectives.
- Prepare general permit plans standard traffic control permits (TCPs) and cost estimates.
- Schedule and conduct preconstruction meetings with contractors and city project managers.
- Present project status updates at biweekly progress meetings with city representatives.
- Coordinate with city departments for signals striping street narrowing and speed calming measures.
- Capture daily photos using mobile devices with GIS/camera apps and prepare daily reports.
- Request and secure signed rightofentry authorizations for private property access when necessary.
- Schedule Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) inspections prepare punch lists and oversee punch list completion.
- Conduct quantity walkthroughs after project completion and verify payment applications for accuracy.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and permits.
- Review construction documents onsite and address discrepancies with project teams.
- Transition into officebased civil design roles following project completion if desired.
Required Qualifications: - Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or Construction Management.
- 4 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on field engineering.
- Valid drivers license and a favorable driving record.
- Strong problemsolving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology for data collection and project management.
- Ability to work onsite in various weather conditions for extended durations.
- Positive and professional attitude with a commitment to safety.
- Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
