Job Description
PGT science teachers responsibilities include:
Teaching: Planning and delivering lessons on science topics such as biology chemistry or physics
Assessing: Evaluating student performance through tests assignments and exams
Communicating: Interacting with students parents and staff
Managing: Enforcing classroom management and school administrative policies
Preparing: Developing lesson plans units of work and learning modules
Supporting: Mentoring students for competitions and events and providing academic assistance
Collaborating: Working with colleagues to develop the department and participate in school events
Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and academic progress
Researching: Investigating and applying developments in subject content and education initiatives
Advising: Providing feedback to parents during PTMs and addressing performance issues
Science teachers should be curious lifelong learners with a passion for discovering new things. They should also be able to teach students from different cultural backgrounds and handle sensitive lessons.
