Reporting to: Head Inclusion and Student Wellbeing
The role of the Inclusion Assistant (Shadow) is to provide personalized support and facilitate an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs enabling them to actively participate and succeed in mainstream classrooms.

Responsibilities.
Student Support: Provide oneonone support to students with needs to facilitate their participation in general education classes. Adapt and modify curriculum materials as needed to meet individual student needs.
Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers Head of Inclusion and other school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodation strategies for students.
Inclusive Environment: Promote an inclusive classroom environment by fostering acceptance understanding and respect among all students. Encourage peer support and positive social interactions.
Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress collect data on student performance and report to the Head of Inclusion or classroom teacher. Provide feedback on strengths challenges and areas for improvement.
Behavior Management: Implement behavior intervention plans and strategies to manage challenging behaviors and promote a positive and productive learning environment.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students teachers parents and other relevant stakeholders. Attend team meetings and parentteacher conferences to discuss student progress.
Adaptation: Assist in adapting instructional materials and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Use assistive technology and specialized equipment when necessary.
Safety: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times including during classroom activities transitions and school outings.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in special education and inclusion. Attend relevant training and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of student progress interventions and any incidents. Complete required paperwork and reports.
Specific Responsibilities.
To act as learning and social support
To adapt the student previous Individual Education Plan (IEP) inline with the information in his/her OT report and his current needs to ensure that the student gets the best out of his/her learning opportunities at ISL Qatar
To liaise with teachers to enable the student to participate and progress in lessons
To support the student in developing social connections with peers and staff
To support the student with any physical needs (this is not a major area of concern)
To liaise with the student family in supporting the student learning needs
Education
Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent Relevant qualifications and experience in special education, inclusive practices, or related fields
