Job Description
We are seeking compassionate trustworthy and reliable selfstarters to join our growing home care team. In this role you will provide care and support to individuals in their private homes while maintaining a safe and clean environment. In doing so caregivers/companions will ensure each clients dignity respect and independence. You will work under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provide nonmedical services such as light housekeeping meal preparation warm companionship and medication reminders. Although not a requirement we strongly encourage those with CNA GNA and HHA credentials to apply.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and promotes a safe environment for quality client care through adherence to established standards policies and procedures
- Ensures clean safe living space (i.e. bathroom toilets dishes laundry etc.)
- Assists client with walking and transportation to appointments outdoor activities errands etc.
- Records and reports any changes or concerns in behavior to the Director of Nursing via written and verbal communication
- Provides verbal reminders for medication
- Plans prepares and serves meals to client
- Accompanies and attends social events with clients
- Adheres to the established care plan
- Administers duties with the utmost professionalism and respect
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a HS diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of documented experience (preferably providing caregiving experience with adults)
- Hold a valid nonexpired drivers license
- Have current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Can provide evidence of a Negative TB skin test or Chest Xray
- Able to bend stoop push and physically assist with needs of client
- Able to read write and understand English
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and client confidentiality mandates
