Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Principal Automation Specialist. In this position you will lead the automation team in creating implementing and maintaining custom addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D. This role requires a deep understanding of both software platforms and the ability to translate complex engineering requirements into functional automation tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development project management and a thorough understanding of roadway and infrastructure design processes.
What Youll Be Doing:
Led and managed a team of automation specialists across multiple engineering centres.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Primary interface with the engineering teams on all technical matters.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
Proven experience in drafting and reviewing software requirements specification documentation.
Responsible for budgeting/cost forecasting within the automation specialism/discipline.
Responsible for prioritising delivering and managing automation requirements
Ability to adopt a riskaverse stance reviewing risks and proposing mitigation solutions for automation.
Manages the development implementation and maintenance of custom addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D.
Ability to analyse code evaluate quality readability and adherence to coding standards and ensure UI/UX design quality.
Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing automation tools to enhance functionality and efficiency.
Lead complex automation tool development testing deployment and maintenance in various engineering and building information modelling (BIM) software.
Ability to generate detailed reports (including KPI reporting).
Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to senior management.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in Autodesk software and automation technologies.
What Youll Bring:
Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
5 years experience in leading a development team
10 years experience in system development using .NET/C#.
5 years experience in Revit and Civil 3D.
Indepth knowledge of roadway and infrastructure design processes.
Strong understanding of BIM (Building Information Modelling) principles.
Strong programming skills in languages such as VB C# Lisp and Python.
Indepth experience with RDBMS in systems development using MSSQL.
Extensive experience in developing addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D.
Proficiency in various engineering and BIM software APIs e.g. Revit and Civil 3D.
Highly knowledgeable in system analysis.
Proven experience in managing and leading technical teams.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
