Job Description

Role Purpose
The selected candidate will deliver comprehensive tailored advice to TMEA production and hatchery teams across our internal operations (including Joint Ventures) to deliver highest quality hatching eggs and chicks to planned volumes within budgetary cost controls and biosecurity.

Location: Preferably within the TMEA region; flexible for the ideal candidate.

Reporting line: will be reporting to TMEA Head of Operations and be part of regional senior management team.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Maximize biological output across the operations through effective stock management and high flock health standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of the highest standards of biosecurity and bird welfare.
  • Assist in the development of regional best practices in flock and hatchery management.
  • Through continuous training support and monitoring elevate the skill set of the internal teams to Aviagen standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships between the TMEA production bases and with the European and Global production teams.
  • Implement and monitor TMEA Egg Quality Standards identifying and addressing variances.
  • Develop and enforce TMEA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for farms and hatcheries.
  • Prepare monthly TMEA internal operations reports covering performance health quality welfare and biosecurity.
  • Ensure best practice knowledge is shared between the internal TMEA GP/GGP operations and external TMEA external GP customer support team.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years working knowledge in broiler breeder husbandry preferably GGP/GP
  • Desirable: Knowledge in the basics of Veterinary Incubation and Nutrition
  • Proven people management and leadership skills in multicultural environments.

Staff & Financial Management
  • Directly manage the TMEA Internal Operations Veterinarian.
  • Functionally manage Internal Production Managers.
  • No direct financial responsibility but strong financial awareness of relevant operational KPIs is essential.
Travel Approximately 150 days of international travel including some weekends.
