Job Summary:

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced AutoCAD Draftsman with a strong background in civil engineering and a specialization in underground utilities and fiber optics/cable installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans for a range of civil engineering projects with a primary focus on the design and installation of underground utility systems.

You will work closely with engineers project managers and construction teams to ensure designs meet specifications and project requirements providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD for civil engineering projects particularly for underground utilities including water sewer stormwater and fiber optic/cable installations.
• Develop plans profiles sections and details for underground utility layouts fiber optic pathways and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to review project specifications blueprints and survey data to ensure all designs align with project needs.
• Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations and standards for utility and cable installations.
• Conduct field site visits as needed to gather information and verify measurements for asbuilt drawings.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from engineering teams clients and project managers.
• Coordinate with other departments and contractors to ensure that all utility design work integrates smoothly with overall project plans.
• Assist in preparing technical reports documentation and material specifications for engineering projects.
• Maintain and organize project files ensuring accurate document control and versioning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Drafting or a related field.
• 3 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman preferably in civil engineering with a focus on underground utilities and fiber optics/cable installations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) Civil 3D and other drafting software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles particularly in the design and installation of underground utility systems.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable installations cable routing and utility conflict resolution.
• Familiarity with surveying principles GIS mapping and construction documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problemsolving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
• Experience with fieldwork and onsite data collection is a plus.
