Position
Fresh Purchaser
Summary
The purchaser is responsible for managing fresh fish inventory levels and maintaining quality products. Also the purchaser will be indirectly responsible for sales volume and satisfying customer needs. After purchasing the purchaser must evaluate the quality of seafood products acquired and maintain adequate inventory levels to avoid any losses.
Essential Duties
• Purchase fresh products (fish vegetables shellfish etc).
• Evaluates and selects suppliers based on price quality service support and reliability and negotiates the lowest prices for products.
• Preparation of orders and follows up to expedite delivery.
• Understand customer needs and repaper for them.
• Take any necessary actions to avoid any loss or variance of fresh inventory as much as possible.
• Observes market trends interviews and recommends suppliers and schedules deliveries.
• Develops and maintains accurate physical inventory and records in the computer and files for efficient operation.
• Count physical inventory of fresh items on daily basis.
• Be responsible to increase sales indirectly through supplying and communicating with sales.
• Communicate with suppliers in the US and Japan.
• May operate trucks and material handling equipment for loading and unloading.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Hours Working style
5:30am (5:00am on Tuesday) to 2:00pm hours of operation
Subject to outdoor condition shift

Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
