About the Role:
The Director of Counseling Community Education and Crisis Services is responsible for the oversight and direction of the outpatient counseling program crisis intervention services and community education. Services focus on intimate partner violence sexual violence and human trafficking. The responsibilities of this vital role include:
- Planning establishing and directing the overall policies and practices for counseling community education and crisis services.
- Representing SARC with area service providers on local coalitions committees and boards and providing professional presentations for educational and marketing purposes.
- Ensuring coverage for the 24/7 Hospital Companion Human Trafficking and Lethality Programs which may include providing afterhours coverage during a staff vacancy or when a staff member is unable to respond due to illness.
- Reviewing charts signing treatment plans and case management service plans for all case managers and counselors currently under supervision.
- Providing direct counseling services for up to 5 clients weekly.
- Providing regular auditing of all client records to ensure they meet the agency standards for documentation and treatment.
- Monitoring counselor case assignments treatment progress case closures and wait lists.
- Maintaining and reporting accurate and uptodate statistics for the program. Using an electronic records system and other methods to monitor and report on program quality data integrity and other key performance indicators.
- Assisting with grant writing responsibility grant oversight and grant reporting for Federal State and local grants.
- Holding team meetings regularly to provide feedback and direction and meeting weekly with direct reports for oneonone supervision.
- Coordinating staff schedules and shift coverage and reviewing and approving oncall schedules for the hospital companion program.
- Participating in the planning and delivery of community education.
- Maintaining good working relationships with outside agencies both in Harford County and surrounding areas.
- Meeting regularly with the CEO to discuss cases procedures and problems.
- Supervising counselors crisis case managers community educators and the Coordinator for the Abuser Intervention Program which includes interviewing hiring and training employees planning assigned and directing work appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday usually 8:30am to 4:30pm. Required to work inoffice at least 3 days per week with 2 remote day options. These days will vary based upon requiring community meetings.
Salary:
$75000 to $83000 per year.
Requirements
Necessary Skills:
- Knowledge of intensive psychosocial services and a wide range of skills including casework group work individual and family therapy.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Knowledge and adherence to laws policies procedures and ethical standards of the counseling profession.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret procedures.
- Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant therapy concepts define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Masters Degree in Psychology Social Work or related field.
- Two years of clinical experience.
- Within a 1hour commute to our Bel Air office.
- Current MD license as an LCPC or LCSWC is required.
- Must be able to effectively maintain a healthy work environment for all staff that encourages professionalism respect equality diversity and continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with trauma and/or crisis intervention.
- Two years of prior management experience.
